Those sugared nectarines sound just wonderful! I’m happy to know it works well with yogurt, too. Hmmm…may have to make this again soon and try it that way! Thanks so much for commenting! P~

But when I went to make it, I discovered I’d forgotten to buy buttermilk! I made it with plain yoghurt instead and it tasted exactly as it did the first time. In addition to the glaze I put out sliced, sugared nectarines as a topping, and everyone went crazy. SO good, thanks, this is a keeper!

And lemon. YESS!!! :) Also, I’m glad your renovations are coming along well. I can’t imagine how crazy it is having people show up so early and to have the house cranking with so many people. I’m sure you’re handling it marvelously, though.

It was just delicious! One of the things I changed about the recipe was when the zest was added. I have found that adding something like that to the flour allows it to spread more evenly through the batter, without clumping up. And it was ALL THROUGH the cake. I need this again.

Those guys are just the greatest. They’ll be back to frame the carports and boatport…and I can’t wait to see them again. P~

Pound cake is, hands down, my favorite cake, and I love the summer inspired lemon addition. This will definitely be baking in my oven!

I’m glad you enjoyed baking for the crew. Nothing is more fun than baking for an appreciative audience. ;)
