Memorial Day Recipe Roundup

The traditional start of Summer kicks off this weekend in the U.S. with Memorial Day weekend. Be prepared for your holiday celebrations with this recipe roundup which includes Carolina-Styled Pulled Pork (Crock-Pot Recipe), Lemon Dill Deviled Eggs, Southern-Style Mustard Potato Salad, Dill Pickle Dip, Greek-Style Pasta Salad and Watermelon Berry Gazpacho!  I have included links to the recipes for you for easy reference.

Don’t slave over a smoker or grill this weekend! Pull out your crock-pot and have mounds of Carolina-Style Pulled Pork for your hungry hordes! Hands down, one of the favorite recipes from The Saucy Southerner. It’s easy, delicious and makes a lot of pulled pork.

No holiday gathering is complete without deviled eggs! Try my latest version of the devilish delights: Caper Lemon Dill Deviled Eggs!

Of course, you must have THE potato salad at your feast! Southern-Style Mustard Potato Salad. This recipe is another favorite of The Saucy Southerner readers!

Dill Pickle Dip is the perfect, cool, refreshing, tangy dip for your gathering! It goes great with a crudité of fresh vegetables, crackers, pretzels…anything! It has always been a hit whenever I have served it.

You can never have too many salads at an outdoor feast. Give your friends and family another option, too! This mayonnaise-less Greek Pasta Salad is a super idea and it’s really good!

Finally, a simple and delightful brand new concoction of mine, Watermelon Berry Gazpacho! You can make it ahead, serve it chilled and slurp your dessert! Sure, sure, it’s a soup…but who will know? It’s like a giant smoothie!

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone, as we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

About P ~ The Saucy Southerner

I started cooking when I was ten years old. For me, the process of cooking, from inception of a dish, to the execution, to the washing of the pots is sheer delight.

I am now retired from a business I still own, in partnership with my husband. I used to work six days a week and still cook every night. Now, I’m gardening, still cooking, always having fun and hoping to share my joy with you. Thank you for reading…and commenting! P~
