No-Fat Honey French Dressing Easy Homemade Salad Dressing Recipe

No-Fat Honey French Dressing

Summer Salad Season will soon be upon us, so this week’s Meatless Monday recipe is for a No-Fat Honey French Dressing. It is really, really simple to throw together and is perfect for those days ahead when crisp, cool, salad-eatin’ is what the heat of summer demands.

Recently I had lunch at the home of one of my girlfriends. She put together the most lovely salad for us; when she pulled out salad dressings, it brought home to me the notion that not everyone cares for creamy salad dressings (like Mr. Saucy does). Normally I will just drizzle some balsamic vinegar on my salads, or I’ll eat a homemade yogurt Ranch-style dressing. I just don’t care for oily salads, so I don’t make them.

Since so many people are watching their fat consumption, I was inspired to try to come up with a version of a Honey French Dressing that didn’t contain any fat. There is zero oil in this dressing…no fat at all…and you won’t miss it! I promise!

This recipe is super simple; it is really delicious; it has just the right amount of sweet from the honey (so no high-fructose corn syrup or even sugar); it costs just pennies to make. It will never separate, it makes about two cups of dressing, and it will keep in the refrigerator for a long time (but you’ll eat it quickly, I’m sure).

With the cold spring we’ve had, I’m sure the heat of the summer will be a shock to all of our systems. Take a break from heating up your kitchen, make a great big salad for dinner…and be sure to try this No-Fat Honey French Dressing recipe!

About P ~ The Saucy Southerner

I started cooking when I was ten years old. For me, the process of cooking, from inception of a dish, to the execution, to the washing of the pots is sheer delight. I am now retired from a business I still own, in partnership with my husband. I used to work six days a week and still cook every night. Now, I'm gardening, still cooking, always having fun and hoping to share my joy with you. Thank you for reading...and commenting! P~

I can’t wait to make this….no oil? Im so curious. I also think white vinegar is totally underused.

Marcie…it doesn’t need oil…it’s really good! And I agree with you about the white vinegar. I use it almost equally as much as apple cider or balsamic. But, I am a vinegar hound! ; ) P~
