Roquefort Pecan Finishing Butter:

Roquefort Pecan Finishing Butter

Finishing Butters, also called compound butter or beurre compos in French, are used to enhance the flavors of foods, like a sauce would.

Softened butter is mixed with other ingredients then formed and chilled prior to using. In this case, I have used Roquefort cheese and toasted pecan pieces in my butter. This very simple combination adds a ton of flavor to grilled foods!

For this post, I used it on big thick steaks, straight off the grill, but since then I have used it on grilled vegetables and it was amazing! I hope you’ll try it!

About P ~ The Saucy Southerner

I started cooking when I was ten years old. For me, the process of cooking, from inception of a dish, to the execution, to the washing of the pots is sheer delight.

I am now retired from a business I still own, in partnership with my husband. I used to work six days a week and still cook every night. Now, I’m gardening, still cooking, always having fun and hoping to share my joy with you. Thank you for reading…and commenting! P~

Your Roquefort Pecan Finishing Butter sounds absolutely delicious! I cannot wait to make it! I love grilling! It is hard to pick a favorite… Steak, corn and potatoes are my top 3!

  2. Sandy Rees says:

I love barbecue chicken but a good steak is never turned down here. In fact, the rest of my family would prefer the steak. We have put a pat of butter on a grilled steak before but this takes that to a whole new level!

  3. Kelly D says:

Salmon is my favorite grilled food.

  4. Tim says:

I like rope sausage. We generally cook those an an appetizer for our guests to snack on while we wait for the other meats to cook. We smother them in barbecue sauce, roll them in tortillas, and they are a big hit. Your hands are kept clean because of the tortilla, making them a great finger food.

  5. Farrah says:

That sounds amazing! *-* I’m definitely going to have to try this out on something!

I’m not sure I can pick a favorite grilled food. I adore salmon + grilled veggies though?!

  6. WOW! I need to make this and I need a GIANT steak to go with it 🙂

  7. Nancy Loring says:

I love grilling lobster tails. It is a special treat that we do from time to time.

  8. Natalie says:

My favorite grilled food would have to be grilled corn on the cob! There is nothing better than sweet corn in the summer.

  9. Jeannie Ramsey says:

Salmon and corn on the cob are my two favorites to grill.

  10. Geoff says:

My favorite grilled food is bratwurst!

  11. steve yates says:

Hamburgers are hard to beat, but after seeing all this delicious food cooked on the grill it may be time for me to experiment.

  12. Melissa says:

I love nearly everything on the grill, but steaks are probably still my favorite.

  13. Chrissy says:

My favorite grilled food is either steak or corn on the cob. If I can have them both that’s obviously the best!

  14. I missed the contest but this butter looks amazing! Lord! *faints*
