Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing
Top your favorite salad, fruit, or slaw with this recipe for Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing, done two ways: Traditional Mayonnaise and Greek Yogurt; both sweetened with honey.
For a long time, I’ve been known as a fan of Sticks and Twigs. Some of my favorite additions to salads are seeds and nuts and dried fruits. Lately, to my salad greens I’ve been adding pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pecans, dry cranberries, dry blueberries, and/or dry tart cherries and chunks of Roquefort cheese (along with celery, carrot and cucumber slices).
Mr. Saucy always uses Bleu Cheese Dressing, but I love, love, love, a Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing! While I always make my own dressing, I don’t always use the same base for it. Sometimes I use mayonnaise, sometimes I use Greek Yogurt. So, I decided to give you both. Actually, they are the same, except for the base.
Yogurt or mayonnaise combines with honey (which I much prefer to granulated sugar, but you can use in equal measure), apple cider vinegar and poppy seeds. That’s it! So easy!
This dressing is perfect for fruit salads, for broccoli slaw with dried fruits and nuts, and for green salads. Don’t buy a bottle again! Control your ingredients and make your own!
