I feel certain that everyone is familiar with that holiday favorite cereal snack mix out there. This is similar, but filled with the things I love…and with a little kick. If you’re searching for something a little different, give my version a try…
For years now, I’ve said there are very few “rules” when it comes to cooking…this truly applies to the making of cereal snack mixes. For instance, Cheerios in it? No thanks! Bagel chips? Chip a tooth! And there are nuts in mixed nuts that I just don’t want.
Also, the thing about Chex mix (yes, that’s the one I was referring to), is that you have to buy three boxes of cereal. And, I’m not a particular fan of the wheat Chex…so, I started buying Crispix because you get the rice and the corn in one box of cereal.
I only put in the nuts that I love. Additionally, I use hot and spicy Cheez-its and I add a bit of zip with the addition of some Tabasco and a hint of cayenne pepper.
It’s nothing fancy, it’s just how I like it; it’s also been a real hit with everyone who has tried it. Especially my nephew, Jonathon, who has declared me “The Best Chex Mix Maker” ever. So, here you go Jonathon…now you can make it too!

Love you, sweetie! Lala
I want to make this————looks delicious————-is it extremely hot in flavor?
You might think so, Elizabeth, but it is really pretty mild. The tabasco and the spicy cheez-its just add a nice zing. I hope you do make it! Thanks for commenting! P~
