Nearly guilt-free creamy Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. Think it’s impossible? Well, it’s not. And it’s here. And it’s delicious. And it’s homemade in just minutes. Make some for your salads, or for your vegetable dipping; even use it for your chips (it’s really good with chips). I have done all of those, and shared this dressing/dip with a crowd. And not one single person could tell it was made with Greek Yogurt!
I said earlier, when I posted this recipe for Spicy Buttermilk Ranch Dressing, I’ve been on a kick to remake bottled dressings using Greek Yogurt. There is something about the creamy texture of the yogurt, along with a bit of tang that is just perfect to use as a base for dressings and dips. It’s one of my must-have ingredients in my refrigerator in the past year.
While I used fresh herbs in this dressing, it would be fine to use dry. I mean, that’s what is in the packets you buy, right? Well, plus some other stuff we might not want to know about. Look, I know, those packets are easy, I’ll admit it. But this is really worth the tiny bit of time it takes. Should you choose to use dry herbs, just remember that it only takes 1 teaspoon of dried herbs as a substitute for 1 tablespoon of fresh.
Also, this dressing can be made fat-free with the use of fat-free yogurt and buttermilk (normally, I use 2% for each, but all my market had this time was fat-free buttermilk). It’s so light, but creamy, and so tasty! So, don’t let a diet keep you from creamy delicious salad dressing or dip.
Make your vegetables delectable…you don’t have to live in a hidden valley to enjoy this recipe. *wink*
