Bacon/Lettuce/Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with Roasted Red Pepper Aioli

Words are not necessary...

Say what?  Bacon, Lettuce and Fried Green Tomato Sandwich?  With Roasted Red Pepper Aioli?  Served open-face?  Yes, indeedy…and now, I have to state…the BLT can be improved upon!  So, if you’re lookin’ for a treat to whip up this weekend?  Get to the market and snap up some green tomatoes…they’ll be gone soon!

This is a quickie post because I have already provided the recipes for Fried Green Tomatoes and for Roasted Red Pepper Aioli.  So, here I’ll show you the very complicated assembly of this sandwich.

Take a thick slice of boule and lightly toast it. Place it on a plate...

Have your bowl of Roasted Red Pepper Aioli handy...

Slather the bread with the aioli...

Add leaf lettuce...

Pile on a generous portion of crisp cooked bacon...

Top with piping hot fried green tomatoes...

Drizzle on more aioli, grab a knife and fork. Oh, and plenty of napkins!

Then?  Well, then…in the immortal words of Inigo Montoya…Prepare to die!

About P ~ The Saucy Southerner

I started cooking when I was ten years old. For me, the process of cooking, from inception of a dish, to the execution, to the washing of the pots is sheer delight. I am now retired from a business I still own, in partnership with my husband. I used to work six days a week and still cook every night. Now, I'm gardening, still cooking, always having fun and hoping to share my joy with you. Thank you for reading...and commenting! P~
