Grilled Brie Banana & Nutella Sandwich - {Meatless Monday}
A delightfully decadent twist on a grilled cheese sandwich, perfect for brunch, lunch, dessert (served with ice cream), or even midnight snacking.
Recipe type: Sandwich
  • Two slices of crusty bread (I used sliced French Boule)
  • 1 tablespoons butter
  • 4 ounces brie (rind cut off and sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons Nutella spread
  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced length-wise
  1. In a skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Spread one side of each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon each slice with Nutella.
  3. Take each slice of bread and dip the plain side in the melted butter until completely coated with butter.
  4. Leave each slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  5. Place a slice of brie on each piece of bread (the Nutella side will be facing up).
  6. Spread another tablespoon of Nutella on each slice of brie.
  7. On one piece of the bread, lay the sliced banana.
  8. The cheese and the Nutella will melt as the sandwich toasts in the butter.
  9. When golden brown on the bottoms of the bread slices, take the side without the banana and lay it, (Nutella side down) on the other half.
  10. With a heavy spatula, press the sandwich to "glue" the sides together with the melted cheese and Nutella.
  11. Remove to a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  12. Serve warm.

About P ~ The Saucy Southerner

I started cooking when I was ten years old. For me, the process of cooking, from inception of a dish, to the execution, to the washing of the pots is sheer delight. I am now retired from a business I still own, in partnership with my husband. I used to work six days a week and still cook every night. Now, I'm gardening, still cooking, always having fun and hoping to share my joy with you. Thank you for reading...and commenting! P~
